Hi L.D. James

Could you possibly give me a step by step explination on how to set up a private voice chat.

I'm no problem with everything else. Have been using FSInn with FSX for a long time now but after reading the manual, I just don't understand the steps

needed to use this so I can communicate with a friend of mine as we fly together. Regular atc works fine. I hope this is clear. Sometimes I think how stupid can I be.

Everything else is very clear.

I appreciate any help you could give me.

Thanks,

Gerry

Hi, Gerry. Bring up the VVL screen ( From the Inn Control panel click Advance -> VVL ). When connected to VATSIM you’ll have three channels. The first two will show the numerical Frequency channel. The third one is an input field. Type in the channel which you want to connect into that field. The format is:

[Server Name]/[Channel] (with Server Name being the name of the voice server, ie. rw.liveatc.net, and the channel name being the name of the private channel.)

If the channel exist (for instance your VA or friend has given it to you) you’ll enter the existing channel. If it doesn’t exist, it’ll be created. You can then give someone else the newly created private channel to join.

If you type in: rw.liveatc.net/mychannel that will be the private channel that you can share with your friend.

You can use Servinfo and click on the Voice button to see which voice channels are available.

Hi L.D. James,

Just a question. Can I use any name for my channel like you did for "My Channel " as a name in your example?

Thanks,
Gerry
