Use this area to post your questions and comments concerning online flying on the Multi-player Server.

This includes TeamSpeak, Pro Controller (for ATC), the FSD Server, FSInn, as well as the many other Multiplayer accessories for Flight Simulator.

Howdy,

Over the past few months I've been studying the workings of the FSD Servers. So far, I've managed to set one up with my preferences; Connect PC to it; Connect FSInn to it; Get WX data from NOAA; etc

However this is only the server gotten from FSFDT(fsd1110.zip). I'm glad that it came in a few variations, including an already complied one, but when I try to compile the source code myself(Using Microsoft Visual C++ Express), I constantly get an error log, saying that there is one or another file missing(Mainly a header). I'm not much of an expert with coding as it is, but anytime that I update these files, there's yet some other one missing. The loop keeps going and going.

Any help?

Thx in advance

I use the Linux version. Haven't ever tried to compile the Windows Version.

I'll check the zip file you mentioned and see what it does on my machine.

I recall seeing an already compiled version for Windows. Did you check one of the pre-compiled ones?

Oh yes, I already 'use' a windows pre-compiled one. But I'm interested in learning more about this thing, so I'd like to try and set it up according to my own preferences, and see how it works out etc.

I reread your message and see that you do have the already compiled one.

I'll let you know what I find after I attempt to compile the source.

Hi, Alex.

I tried to compile the source using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 and it failed.

I didn't have any problems compiling the Linux version. I'm a little more fluent with the Linux environment for programming.

I can use the FSD with no problems. But I guess actually building it from source would take a little more work on my part.

I'll continue to work with the errors and let you know if I find the solution. I'd appreciate your comment also if you discover what's causing the errors.

Thx Larry. I'll keep at it too. I still have all the old logs, so I'll send them over if you want.

I've tried solving the problem again, without much success. Even when all the missing files are included, the same error keeps appearing. Could there possibly be some error in the source(windows one)?

Most likely the problem has to do more with the way the compiler environment was setup during the configuration.

I'm stuck on compiling the Windows Version. I find the Linux version to compile very easily and to be easy to setup and use.

I'm sure the latter doesn't help your case.

When I get more time I'll explore the Windows environment more and try to find the solution.

I have seen many times that it takes some work initially to compile downloaded Windows source code. Most of the time, I can usually sort out the culprits.

Sure no rush. I don't really need this for anything, just trying to learn about it.

>how can we put our own ts to the controller on the server

By putting the channel information as the first line in the controller's ATIS. Details can be found:

http://flightsim.apollo3.com/pages/procontroller.htm

and in the FSInn manual page 68

Also when setting up the Network Specific Information be sure to put the server address in the TS VA Mode URL field. Tick TS VA mode.
