Under "Sounds and Audio Devices" and under the voice tab when i click on test hardware ....

it says, the wizard tests your sound hardware to make sure it can play sounds and capture your device while you are playing online games.

Your computer sound hardware: Playback: C-Media wave device
Recording: C-Media wave device

Error message: Your voice was NOT detected! My microphone is plugged in the back of the CPU unit why is it not picking up voice recordings?

Hi Phil. It sound like your system needs updated drivers for your sound adapter. I would need a substantial amount of technical specs to recommend which drivers.

I'll research links to the generic C-Media drivers that you can test.

When you upgraded our computer which you always brought a different cpu unit. The CD/DVD Rom never open/close properly ... if you recalled had to insert pin to budge the door open. Now the door doesn't open or close at all. I have to try nudge it open and when i do finally open it and insert a disc it doesn't play at all. I never really hardly use it until now! Why isn't it working? Not my fault i never use it!

The CPU would in no way affect the operation of the DVD. There was a problem with the DVD. I showed you a workaround. It appears that you didn't have an immediate need for the workaround because you weren't using it at the time. Now that you're using it, you can either use the workaround to open it when it fails to open or replace the CD/DVD drive.

You can run a wire from the audio output to the audio input and record while you play midi file(s).
