I did a "Java Search" and see a listing that goes back to 1999. Before i download Java again why are there listings of Java going back to date of 1999. When you uninstall it doesn't it uninstall every file that Java is located in? This takes up disk space on your harddrive. Should these files be remove? I need to download Java but hate the thought of downloading unto unnecessary previous Java that located on your computer that you don't need. How do you clean this up or is this suppose stay as junk on your harddrive? I hopse you understand what i am saying and help advise me on what to do??

Generally a Java installation/update is automatic. If you have it installed it will automatically prompt you when a new version is available and give you the option to update.
Some updates might leave some residue files, but I can't imagine it being something that will make any type of significance to be concerned with.
If you’re not having any Java errors I wouldn’t be concerned with it. It the system prompts you for an available update, I would accept it.
