error message

Every time I turn on the computer the enclosed error message keeps popping up. It is for Windows Live messenger. I really don’t want to install this messenger . I already have the original messenger that came with the upgrade you did with this computer. The windows live messenger is the advanced messenger by windows. How can I stop the error pop up when you first turn on the computer without reinstalling the Windows Live Messenger it again?

I don’t know directly what has happened that will cause the system to attempt to update the messenger program. It might have something to do with normal updates that happen for security as the programs develop with time. The original messenger is old. From my memory there was never a way to uninstall it, it came with the operating system and could not be install. I believe the only think you can do is either precede to update or not use it if you don’t use it.

I recall a routine that would stop it from loading (for people who didn’t want to have Messenger on their system). However, if you use Messenger, my best advice would be to confirm the update.

NO, this isn't the original messenger this was a newer version from my old files that you put into the "old drives" folder after you updated our computer. I ended up clicking on one of the icons trying to open it and somehow it didn't work because it was just a shortcut. The file ended up in the recycle bin but won't restore back to where it came from therefore, that (enclosed attachment which shows error message sirenacm.dll) keeps saying its missing. So, when i turn on the computer to load this error window keeps popping up. Is there a way to get rid of the whole file where the (sirenacm.dll) came from that claims its looking for the section it derived from so it won't keep looking for the missing sirenacm.dll? Then it won't keep looking for the missing (sirenacm.dll) link? I am trying to explain it the best i can but i don't know if its clear enough for you to understand?

I’m glad to see there is some progress, as far as the original message. However, the answer is the same. I believe you will have to install the newest version downloaded from Microsoft, or allow it to automatically install it. Then you can uninstall the new version if you don’t want to run it.

That should clear up the error messages you’re getting.
