View Full Version : FSInn / VATSIM connection problems

Hi - I'm at my wits end trying to get FSInn to work sensibly with FSX. At first it worked OK, but disconnected me within 20 mins - after which I couldnt get back on till the next day.

Now I can't get properly connected at all. FSFDT control panel reckons I'm connected, as does FSInn (allegedly), but there are no ATC, no traffic on radar or anything else to suggest i'm anything but alone.

The ping between myself and the VATSIMUK-1 server is consistently <60ms and I've also tried some international servers with the same result.

Most of the time the 'control panel' sticks on "connection pending" until it gets fed up and just tells me I'm connected when I'm not...

Hope you can help - I'm really losing interest!

Ryan

Sorry to see you loose interest. Currently I'm having problems with FSX after upgrading my system to accommodate it. It's taking some work and time to get everything organized, but I'm sure the end results will be that much more appreciated after expending the time and work.

As far as your problem, how are you connecting to the Internet? Are you using a wireless router?

You might consider installing Microsoft's loopback adapter. I found that to resolve lots of random connection problems. You'll find details of how to install the adapter at: http://www.mcdu.com/en/faq.php?faq=95#faq95 .

G'day Larry,

I am using the latest betas of FSInn and Copilot. With it I am able to connect to the internet with FSX but not able to in FS9.

I have read the posts over at MCDU but the topic has been locked so I was not able to post there.

Thanks for the help I was able to get from postings there and have got my Nortons Internet Security set just the way you said to there.

I like the look of the new versions of FSInn but have no desire to backdate to FSInn 1.1 in order to run it in FS9. I have worked through all the suggestions you have made to others but have had limited success.

I will wait patiently until this problem can be solved as I have other ways of flying online in FS9.

Once again thanks for your help.

Pat

Glad you're up and running with FSX. Thanks for the acknowledgment of the Norton fix.

For the FS9 problem, try running fs9tool.exe, http://flightsim.apollo3.com .

Larry,

I have downloaded and installed all those tools you suggested I do. I seem to be making some progress but I now get the following error,

Hope this will help you.

Pat

P.S. Sorry to be such a pain in the backside.

Okay, so the tools you're referring to is the loopback adapter and fs9tool.exe?

Did you restart the computer after the installation of the loopback adapter?

Are you behind a router?

Is the UPdP enabled for your router?

They were the tool I was referring to.

Yes I am behind a wireless router.

Ii don't have UPdP but my UPnP is enabled.

Please forgive the UPnP typo. I'm sure by now you've restarted the computer.

There are a couple other items that may cause this problem. Are you able to connect to the FSInn session via FS9's Multiplayer option?
