Hello Larry.

I'm concerned about Alexander.

I put a post in on "(English) The Ghetto" (I'm sure you have read it) in reply to "Arrogant Support" and have yet to receive an 'arrogant' reply!! ;-)

Is he unwell? Off his food? On a Zimmer frame? 'Sectioned' under the Mental Health Act?

Hi, Staurt. The situation is complicated. While, Alexander has lots of seniority with the team and is very active on the forum. He has announced that he's losing interest in Flight Simming at this time. When you couple this with the fact that it disturbed lots of the team, especially Alexander, to have many messages from new users posting initial messages suggesting that since Squawkbox doesn't work with FSX they are going to forced to use FSInn. The initial messages used to start out with complaints.

So, I guess the forum will have to contend with the not having the most patient and diplomatic moderator. At present the diplomacy will have to come from VA representatives from other places to represent the case of the individual users from their respective places such as your VA, VATSIM, etc., and to take the information learned back to their users.

I know it can appear bleak at times, but rest assured, Benjamin hasn't abandoned the flight community. With resources like this and VATSIM, users are able to discuss aspects of FSInn, that might not necessary be bugs, that can be presented to Benjamin that will remain representative of the appreciation of the application.

I don't mind answering any of your (the users) questions. At this stage, I'm not left hanging, and I would never leave the users hanging.

Its too bad that this is seen as a negative. The reality of this planet is that people generally don't adapt well to change. FSInn is different and at first seems difficult. Those that adapt and get comfortable with it generally will not go back.

I fully agree with you Mark. Giving the general users a chance to at least look at FSInn is a good thing.

I just made a comment about some of what I observed as being behind some of the initial frustration. The general team, Benjamin, and I, are not bothered in that matter at this time. I might make a facetious comment when a user posts an initial message like that. But I don't let it stop me from helping them. In fact I don't mind helping a user with a problem he's having with Squawkbox. Benjamin wouldn't mind helping a user having problems with Squawkbox either. In fact Benjamin has so much genuine concern for the flight community that he volunteered to help finish the SB4 program.

As far as Stuart's question, it might be hard to find a better programmer than Alexander. But it's very clear that he doesn't care to give support for the Flight Community at this time. As I mentioned on VATSIM, the general FSInn users will have to rely on their individual VA's and VATSIM for their discussions. Their computer gurus will have to be the ones that will discuss the technical issues (bugs) with Alexander on the mcdu.com site.

Larry,

I can certainly be the helpdesk for UPSVAC. I am currently a Hub Manager and on the Board for this VA and I have used FSInn from the beginning.

Good idea, Mark. You might also consider posting a similar message as, http://forum.apollo3.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=110&topic_id=88&mesg_id=88&page= , on your VA site.
