View Full Version : P2P with FSInn 1.3/FSCopilot 1.7

I'll try to get to the point really quickly here...

I've been looking around the official FSInn forums (mcdu.com) but haven't found anything on this.

P2P does not seem to work for me on Vista 64 with FS9, using FSInn 1.3 and FSCopilot 1.7.

If that's simply the case, then I can live with it. Please don't freak out at me for "not reading the forums". That's why I'm here, the last time I posted on the MCDU forums, Alexander was a complete (mod removed) to me, and I got so furious with his idiocy that I didn't want to go and get myself banned on their forums for completely tearing him out and his blatant lack of respect for me, or any of his software users, for that matter.

Anyhow, the point is that I just want to know if this is a normal occurrence for a Vista 64 system with FSInn 1.3/FSCopilot 1.7.
When I am online, under the Advanced>PLA tab, I can double click on anyone's name and I get the double arrows, but it stays blue rather than going to green or yellow, or whatever else. Meaning that P2P is not functioning like it should.

A simple answer will do just fine would be very much appreciated! Please understand that I in no way mean to be a nuisance, and if you want to freak out at me for "not reading the forums", save it for someone else, and just be nice when you give me a reasonable response.

Thanks very much, appreciate the help.

(edit)

Sorry if this post seems offensive in any way, my anger with Alex is still running off. My apologies... if this turns people off from assisting me, I thoroughly deserve it.

Hi, Pracic. My computers are not 64 bit. I'll have to setup an appointment to test some 64 bit configurations and get back with you.

By the way, Alexander is a great programmer. He does well on the documentation preparations. If he doesn't want to give support beyond the engineering of the application and documentation provided, we just have to content with that.

Hopefully you will learn the ins and outs of the program and take the information back to the individual communities.

Thanks Mr. L.D. James,

I understand that it can be annoying in Alexander's position, with so many people complaining and everything all the time. But he doesn't even seem to consider the idea of respect, much less try it on for size. I couldn't believe he was so rude to me even after I was so polite, and tried my best to "be nice". When someone does that to me, I believe they have no right to function in society.

Of course I feel terrible saying that, because I am positive he has a LOT to contribute to everyone, but the least he could do is be nice about it. It's not necessarily the fact that he won't provide support, its that he actually INSULTS me and many other users rather than maybe ignoring us or maybe simply saying he won't help.

I also realize that I may not have provided near as much support to people as he may have, especially not with FSInn. Which is why I will always pass on everything I know when it comes to getting software to work. I have already helped a couple of people get FSInn working that have had the same problems as me, such as the one I posted a while back about not being able to see others.

Again, I'm sorry for being so harsh against Alexander, I respect the guy for his efforts, but I can't forgive him for his serious disrespect in response to my politeness.

Thanks for looking into it, I sincerely appreciate your help.

So far, what I did manage to get out of Alex was that a P2P connection is possible between FS9 and FSX using FSInn 1.3 and FSCopilot 1.7, so that means it should be possible between FS9 and FS9.

This means that it must be some sort of problem with running a Vista 64bit system versus a standard 32bit, or even because of running Vista versus XP.

Hopefully we can figure this out.

Thanks again, and I apologize for my frustrations...

Are you running Flight Simulator with the compatibility option check marked to "Run As Administrator"?

I sure am.

I have Run as Administrator checked for Flight Simulator, as well as for everything to do with FSInn, UAC is disabled, firewall is 100% removed. I have tried with Windows Defender both enabled and Disabled.

I have yet to try with UAC ON though.. its been off the whole time. Would that make a difference? Perhaps leaving it on and simply telling it to permit FSInn/FS9 to run... maybe that would work.

With the check mark in FS9.exe the UAC status doesn't matter.

Ah, I figured as much. I have both the "Run as Administrator" box checkmarked, and UAC is turned off. I usually run with UAC off because it impairs my computers ability to do pretty much anything.

Well, I've been away for a while but I was hoping to have some info when I got back.

I have yet to visit the official forums (I prefer not to unless I really have to...).

Has any progress been made? Maybe there's been enough time for some new solutions or ideas to be brainstormed?

Thanks again for any help.
