View Full Version : FSInn Won't Connect When I click on Amber "FSInn" Button

Well here is what I did. I have FS2004 and I downloaded FSInn 1.2 and FSCoPilot 1.6 since, one without the other, would not work. So I installed and installation went flawless until I came to the part where it tells me to click on the Amber "FSInn" button in the FSInn Control Panel. I click and what is supposed to happen is that the FS2004 "Multiplayer Server connect" window comes up and it loads and then you are connected to VATSIM. Instead, nothing at all happens. I click and absolutely nothing happens. Please tell me there is someone else who has expereinced the same thing!? Well anyways and and ALL tech support will be more than welcome here. All I want to do is FLY!!! haha. Sooner this problem is solved, the sooner I will be in the skies.
Thanks in advance. -Kyle

Are you bringing up the Inn Control Panel from inside FS9?
Ran the FS9Tool, did you click on OK, then proceed to load FS9 and look for the Copilot Addon menu?

If you did the FS9tool.exe and that didn't work, it's most likely a Network problem. Try installing the Microsoft Loopback adapter:

Let me know how this works out.

I ran the FS9Tool and it did nothing. It just put the directory back in the same spot it gave me no option to change it. I will record a screenshot video of me doing it. and No I am bringing up the Inn C.P. while I have loaded a flight in FS2004.

The FS9Tool will not put anything anywhere. It gives a prompt for you to type in where you installed FS9. It gives the default installation path as an example. If you didn't use an advance option when you installed FS9, then you don't have to type anything in the field. It will already be there. But if you installed FS9 anywhere else beside the default C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 you have to type that in there.
After you're sure you have that one and only field correct, click on OK. It will fix the registry entry with this information. It doesn't move anything. However, if you click on OK it will update the registry with that information. The key is making sure the path where you installed FS9 is in that one field and pressing OK. Everything else is automatically and this information will be updated.
If this doesn't fix your connection problem, then it means you might have a network issue, which is resolved by installing the loopback adapter I mentioned in the previous message.
Bot this step and the loopback step will have to be done if the problem is a network issue. If you've already done the FS9tool.exe fix, proceed with the loopback step and let me know if this resolves your connection problem.

How would I got about doing the Loopback of FS9? I never got that answer from you or Google.
And let me try the .exetool one more time.

He is going through the same problem as I am.
Was there a resolution to this?

You don't have to use Google. I gave you the link with the instructions with the message suggesting that you use it.
Click on the link in my message.
As for the FS9tool.exe, all since you say you installed FS9 on your C: drive, all you have to do is just run the program and click on OK. I asked numerous times if you clicked on OK. That's all you have to do. If you did that and you still can't connect, it means there a possible network issue, of which the loopback adapter will resolve.

Message in which Forum? VATSIM? I just looked thru it and there was no link except the one you gave me for fs9tool.exe. And yes I did click OK when the .exe was finished. It did nothing. And my router should have nothing to do with it. I am posting a forum in MCDU in addition to this. Please keep posting help though. I really need this figured out. But your help is so greatly appreciated by me. You have no idea. We can figure this out!! :]

Kyle, the replies are numbered. Reread reply #2. It's the second message I typed in this thread.

I read the thread. I'm not sure what that user did. But I will say that I have seen this problem numerous times. I've always given the two steps that I've given you. First run FS9Tool.exe (which usually resolved the issue). If that fails I've given the loopback resolution. That has filled filled in a gap with network issues.
I see it's taking a lot of messages to do these two steps. I don't mind taking the time to repeat. But again, the first step was to run fs9tool.exe, of which you've done. When that failed the second step was to install the loopback adapter which is linked in my second message in this topic.

I have installed the loopback adapter. But what is this: "For the IP and Subnet mask use 172.20.1.1 and 255.255.0.0. Leave the Default Gateway blank."
And where do I enter it??

For anyone reading this thread wondering the fix, it was (reply #11) the two step network fix... the running of FS9Tool.exe and installation of the Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
