Hi,
When i was reading the modlist.txt file i saw that it said:
Mail::Send
does that mean the FSDBase could have a registration page that would prompt for a First Name, Last Name and e-mail address (and maybe password) and then it could send them a auto generated CID? aswell as send out mass mails to them?

Yes.
At present it will send email to the admin if the server is down for more than 10 minutes.

Is there anyway you could share the registration pl that you use on Apollo3 as it would be much appreciated.

I'll expedite the incorporation of it into the FSDBase utility.

that sounds great, just a little tip which i would think would be great is to have a First Name & Last Name Field and when they confirm thier e-mail address not only does it show them thier details (CID& P/W) it could also e-mail it off to them.

I'm not sure I understand this suggestion. First off, I believe it might be easier for a bot to get through a single field input. Many bots (or disruptive kiddies) will ignore the fullname parameter and just put one name. The script is designed to fail if there aren't two names in the fullname field. It’s also designed to fail if there are no numbers in the birthday field.
The simple algorithm filters out unwanted traffic. There are lots of bots that scans the internet for input fields and populate any field with some porn or spam link.
You mention show the CID and password after the email confirm. It actually sends a link to the user of which the CID and password will only be generated if the user clicks on the link from his email.
Before writing the routine, I had many apparent account requests that were never used. So there are number accounts that were originally created that are dormat.
Currently the people who confirm via the link sent to them in email are more likely to use the account.
Even after all that is done, the process isn't complete until the new user actually logs onto the FSD server.

Ok i see, would you be able to create a 'Mass Mail' utility of some sort and make the script work on a windows server.
Thanks in advance

As a programmer I could probably do just about anything someone could put into words. I find Linux a much more easy and convenient environment for programming many task, especially database and web based objectives.
Linux applications are very portable and probably can be easily ported to Windows for people familiar with such. It's not something I try to do. I just keep a Linux server in my network for doing a lot of the important things.
I know it doesn't directly answer your question, but you might consider doing the same. People are often adding new hard drive and other resources to their environment. Maybe you should consider adding a Linux server, and using the hard drive as that added resource. I believe you'd be surprised at the much extended benefit... not to mention that the OS and most of the applications are free.
I'd be surprised if Microsoft doesn't have Linux servers to handle a lot of it's most important internet resources. I know there was a time when they used to use Unix when selling others WindowsNT.

The only problem that faces me is that i run roger wilco base station on my windows server and as far as i am aware it will not run on linux. I have found a tool called Cygwin (http://www.cygwin.com/) that you install to your computer, but i cant find the right package to install within the installer. Its hard to explain. Maybe you could install it and give me a hand?
Thanks
