I’m sure most of you have noticed by now, that the forum software is different. I believe the upgrade is a very positive move with lots of noticeable improvements. I will still miss the DCForum software. It was the greatest while it lasted. It had features that were far ahead of its time in its inception. Many of the features are still ahead of most forum software.
One of the great features was the threaded view. There were many nice things about the threads feature which included an easy way to click to see which message the reply button had actually been clicked on by the poster you’re currently reading.
The problem was the lack of support. The developer, for some reason, faded into the wind and stop providing updates. There were problems with some of the updated PHP and mysql packages that made it increasing compatibility problems with older scripts.
It will be a while that I’ll be working with fine tuning the new software. The current forum software is very well supported by its developers and has lots of flexibility in customizing it. You may notice new features on many of your visits.
